Palestinians killed

‣ 38,243 bodies brought to hospitals (not including bodies that could not be rescued, buried without being registered in the hospitals; according to Israeli soldiers’ testimonies, some of the bodies were swept by bulldozers in order to conceal them from aid delegations);

‣ Data are only partial, as the Ministry of Health has difficulty registering them (difficulties in access and communication, many areas under security threats);

‣ Only 30% of the bodies brought to hospitals have been identified;

‣ No updates about number of missing persons (last update about two months ago stood at 10,000);

‣ 7 mass graves containing 520 bodies were found at 2 hospital compounds in the Northern Strip;

‣ Of the total Palestinians killed, about 16,000 are minors (only about one-half of them identified):

◦ Of these, 8,572 are school children;

◦ 274 members of aid organizations;

◦ 500 members of medical staff;

◦ 75 members of rescue teams;

◦ 162 journalists.

Israelis killed

‣ Since October 7th, 1,524 Israelis and foreign nationals killed;

‣ Of them, 324 soldiers killed in ground invasions;

‣ Exact number of Israeli hostages killed and held by Hamas is not known.

Palestinians wounded

‣ 88,033 Palestinians wounded.

Israelis wounded

‣ About 5,400 reported wounded on October 7th;

‣ 2,097 soldiers wounded during ground invasion.

Humanitarian crisis

‣ 90% of the Gaza Strip inhabitants are displaced. Some of them multiply times;

‣ Since the beginning of July, Israel has issued evacuation orders to inhabitants of eastern Khan Yunis, Eastern Gaza City (Shuja’iya), Western Gaza City;

‣ 1.5 sq. m. per person is the living space at shelters of the displaced. Tens of thousands have no room there and sleep over rubble and waste piles;

‣ 495,000 persons are at the highest level of hunger (level 5);

‣ 745,000 are at level 4;

‣ Situation as seen in survey of displaced persons from Jabalia refugee camp:

1. No access to clean drinking water (direct hits of wells, severe lack of fuel to operate pumps, sewage system has flooded water sources).

2. Solid waste accumulated. Many reports of hepatitis A, skin infections (especially among children), respiratory tract diseases.

3. Bread and preserves are main staple, lacking in fruit, vegetables and protein sources. Reports of anemia among children. Northern Strip has not had food supply for two months now.

4. Lack of accessibility for people with special needs. Many deaf among the persons killed.

5. No school system functioning since October. Children without parents (orphaned or separated) are in danger.

6. Due to lack of shelter, people sleep on the ground, next to sewage that has overflowed.

7. No internet or cellular reception. When a spot is functional and inhabitants congregate there, it is usually attacked by the Israeli army.

Health Crisis

‣ 13 of 36 hospitals partly operational;

‣ 8 field hospitals, 4 of them partly operational;

‣ In the Southern Strip, the only operational hospital is Al Nasser and it is on the verge of collapse due to severe lack of fuel, medical equipment and space;

‣ Physicians Without Borders report from Al Nasser Hospital:

◦ Lack of beds (children’s ward has only 65 beds and 100 wounded children have arrived);

◦ Wounded and ill patients lie on the floor (lack of mattresses) or sit on stairs;

◦ Doctors hammer infusions into the wall;

◦ The hospital has not received medical equipment since April;

◦ The other field hospitals in the Southern Strip are dependent on Al Nasser Hospital.

‣ 923,000 cases of respiratory tract infections;

‣ 527,000 cases of intestinal infections.
