Friday, August 23, 2024 – The West Bank

Raids and arrests

During the night, Israeli forces raided Qalandia refugee camp, Suba, Hebron, Kafr ‘Aqab, HaRasa, Udala, Nablus, Jaba'. During the day they raided Jenin’s industrial zone, Kafr Qaddum, Osarin, Beita, Aqraba, Marda, Azzun, Beit Ummar, Sir, Baqat al-Hatab, Wadi Fukin. 7 Palestinians were arrested, a minor among them.


Clashes and army attacks against Palestinians

1. Nablus - night raid and confrontations. One person wounded by live fire.

2. Kafr Qaddum, east of Qalqilya - raid. Friday prayers at Mosque Omar Ben Al Khatab prevented, as protest processions proceed from it every Friday. Palestine and PLO flags torn down.



Teargas fired into the mosque, suffocations, damage to the structure. A minor wounded by teargas canister hitting him in the back.



3. Osarin, south of Nablus - raid and confrontations.

4. Beita - raid and teargas fired at people praying before conducting their march of protest against land-grab at Jabal Sabih.

5. Kifl Hares, north-west of Salfit - shots fired at Palestinian vehicle suspected of being on the way to carry out a run-over terrorist attack.

6. Azzun, east of Qalqilya - raid with live fire to rescue a colonist who entered the town. Confrontations.

7. Beit Ummar, north of Hebron - confrontations. The army uses live fire and teargas.

8. Baqat al-Hatab, east of Qalqilya - raid with live fire. Raid of mosque.


Palestinian attacks against colonists

1. Huwara, south of Nablus - stones thrown at vehicles.

2. Azzun, east of Qalqilya - colonist entered the town with his car. Attacked with stones. Rescued by the army.


Colonist attacks

1. Khirbet Qalqas, south of Hebron - colonists attack vehicles and spray hate inscriptions.



2. Zanuta, south of Hebron - 3 days after the community returned by force of court edit, colonists came (one of whom has international sanctions) and chased away a flock, threatened the shepherds, broke a solar panel. A policeman (colonist) who was summoned said there is no problem for the colonists to walk around there, and left.



3. Beit Jala, west of Bethlehem - colonists still sitting on Wadi Makhrur land, secured by army and police.

4. Khirbet A Dir, northern Palestinian Jordan Valley - a family was forced to leave its community due to unceasing violence of colonists.



5. Al 'Mu'arrajat, north-west of Jericho - colonists and their flocks raid the community’s land.

6. Al Auja, north of Jericho - colonists fire at the tires of a Palestinian car and take its passengers.
