Saturday, August 31, 2024 – The Gaza Strip

From noon, August 29th to noon, August 31st (48 hours):

‣ 85 bodies brought to hospitals;

‣ 205 persons wounded;

‣ Since October 7, 2023:

◦ 49,691 persons killed;

◦ 94,060 persons wounded.

‣ A soldier badly wounded on Netzarim road;

‣ The bodies of 6 hostages (shot to death shortly beforehand) rescued out of a tunnel in Rafah - Hersh Goldberg Polin, Uri Danino, Almog Sarusi, Alex Lubanov, Carmel Gat, Eden Yerushalmi.

‣ Polio vaccination drive for children up to the age of 14 begun.

Northern Strip

1. Gaza City:

‣ Al Zeitoun (south-east) – battles. Aerial bombing. 3 persons killed. Massive artillery fire, one person killed. Aerial bombings during the night.

‣ Aerial bombing near the school, 3 persons killed. Machine-gun fire;

‣ Al Sabra (south) – aerial bombing, 6 persons killed;

‣ Sheikh Za'id (north) – aerial bombing;

‣ City center – bombing around the Baptist Hospital, 2 persons killed, other wounded including children and a baby;


‣ Al Tufah (east) – aerial bombing.

2. Jabalia refugee camp:

‣ House bombed, 4 persons killed;

‣ Helicopter fire.



Beit Lahia – aerial bombing.


Central Strip

1. Nuseirat refugee camp:

‣ Camp center – aerial bombing. Another aerial bombing, 2 persons killed and others wounded;

‣ West of camp – aerial bombing, 9 persons killed, 10 wounded including children;

‣ North of camp – massive aerial bombing. House bombed.

2. Al Zawaida – artillery fire.

3. Deir Al Balah – bombing, wounded persons.

4. Al Bureij refugee camp – artillery fire east of the camp.


Under the rubble



Southern Strip

1. Khan Yunis and surroundings:

‣ South – house bombed, 4 persons killed. Another house bombing, 3 persons killed, 20 wounded.

2. Rafah:

‣ Artillery fire in the north;

‣ Artillery fire in the west, 3 persons killed.
