General

1. July 16, 2014

Nine years ago, during the military attack on the Gaza Strip (Tzuk Eitan), Israeli planes shelled a group of children on the beach. On that day, members of the Bakr family and their cousins went out to play on a coastal strip, populated by civilians, during a lull in the shelling. Planes shelled them. Four children, Ehad, aged 9, Zaccaria, aged 10, Muhammad, aged 11 and Ismail, aged 9, were killed on the spot. Six other were injured, including four children.


2. Water supply

Mekorot announced another cut in water supply to the Hebron and Bethlehem districts. It should be noted that Israel controls 84% of the Palestinian water sources, destroyed over five hundred rainwater collection pits and confiscated or damaged a hundred springs that were used for irrigation. The water allowance per capita in the West Bank falls short of the minimum amount recommended per capita, according to the World Health Organization, and three times smaller than a settler allowance.


3. 12,855 new housing units in the settlements have been approved since the beginning of the year. This figure triples the entire 2022 approvals.

 

Arrests and detainees

Since the beginning of 2023, 3,860 Palestinians have been arrested, of which 568 are minors and 72 are women. 1,608 administrative detainees.



1. Arrests

During the period under review, 83 Palestinians were arrested: Sebastia 2; Anata 1; East Jerusalem 5; Beit Kahil 1; Nablus 1; Jalbun 2; Jalamah 2; Birzeit 3; Si'ir 1; Awarta 1; Turmus Aya 1; Noor Shams Refugee Camp 2; Shuafat Refugee Camp 1; Marah Rabah 2; Dura 6; Ad-Dhahiriya 3; Qibya 4; Shuqba 1 (the Mayor of the village); Tammun 1; Qalandiya Checkpoint 1; Hebron 7; Za'atara Checkpoint 3; Silwan 3; Al Aqsa Mosque 2; Aqabat Jaber Refugee Camp 2; Nabi Ilyas 1; Muqeible 1; Bethlehem 4; al Fawar Refugee Camp; At-Tuwani 2; as-Samu 1; Abu Najim 1; Beit Fajjar 1; Tell 2; Qusin 1; Shufa 1; Qalandiya 1; Beit Ummar 3.

Attacks by the IOF on Palestinians

The report is chronological and the day of occurrence is specified.


1. Nablus. Thursday morning raid in the east side of the city (Alkhasba and Amman streets). Exchange of fire. No arrests or injuries were reported. Early Saturday morning, a raid on several surrounding villages and the old Askar Refugee Camp. The villages: Beit Furik, Rujeib, Salem, Izmut - east of the city; Madama, Kafr Qallil - south of the city; Qusin - west of the city. exchange of fire at the outskirts of Askar Refugee Camp, and conflicts in Izmut.


2. Birzeit, north of Ramallah. Thursday, early morning raid and arrest. On Friday, early morning raid and clashes. No injuries were reported.


3. El Rashaida, east of Bethlehem, Thursday. A resident suffered a skull fracture due to soldiers' violence, during a raid. No arrest.


4. Shuafat Refugee Camp, North East Jerusalem. On Thursday, a raid on the Ras Khamis area and an arrest. On Friday night, another raid. Conflicts developed. The IOF closed the checkpoint.


5. Raids on Thursday without confrontations: Hares (north of Salfit), Ad-Dhahiriya (south of Hebron), Tell (southwest of Nablus).


6. Kafr Qaddum, east of Qalqilya. Friday morning, raid and clashes. Friday noon, the weekly march to protest the blocking of the main road and the land grabbing, developed into clashes. Six were injured by rubber bullets and others suffered suffocation injuries. On Saturday, more clashes. No casualties were reported.


7. Sebastia, northwest of Nablus. Friday, clashes in the archaeological site (control strugle). The forces fired teargas. Twenty suffocation injuries were reported, including an elderly woman. On Saturday, settlers who attacked a house on the west outskirts of the town, were confronted by the locals. The IOF raided, and arrested the residents of the attacked house.


8. Al-Arroub Refugee Camp, north of Hebron. Friday morning, clashes. No casualties reported. Monday, clashes over throwing of a fire bomb on the military tower at the entrance. The IOF responded with massive firing. Report of suffocation injuries.


9. Silwan, East Jerusalem, Friday. A raid on the Batn Al Hawa neighborhood and an arrest. Saturday, The IOF attacked a non-violent protest against the planned destruction of the Al Rajabi family home, which escalates into clashes in the Al Thori neighborhood, until the evening hours. One resident was shot and taken into custody.


10. Umm Safa, north of Ramallah. Friday noon, a non-violent march protesting the new outpost, established on private land (this is the sixth week), was violently attacked by the IOF who fired teargas and rubber bullets, and threw stun grenades.

One resident was slightly injured by shrapnel from a stun grenade. It should be noted that a Palestinian was killed in a similar procession a week earlier. After two hours the outpost was evicted.


11. Sheikh Jarrah, East Jerusalem, Friday. The non-violent protest procession in the neighborhood was attacked by settlers who snatched Palestinian flags. Two Palestinians were violently arrested, for confronting the settlers. No settlers detained.


12. Bayt Dajan, east of Nablus, Friday. The IOF fired teargas and threw stun grenades at the weekly protest march against the land grabbing. Suffocation injuries treated at the scene.


13. Krayot, south of Nablus, Friday. Settlers raided again the village spring, backed by the IOF. The forces fired teargas and rubber bullets at the villagers.


14. Beit Ummar, north of Hebron. Clashes on Friday, during which the forces fired rubber bullets and teargas. On Monday, a night raid for arrests. Confrontations.


15. Deir Istiya, southwest of Salfit, Friday. During the weekly protest (the fourth week) over the establishment of the new outpost, the IOF prevented the holding of the Friday prayer on the lands. This time the forces locked their weapons.


16. Kafr Qallil, south of Nablus, Friday. Raid. Exchange of fire. No casualties were reported.


17. Kaubar, northwest of Ramallah, Friday. The villagers began a nightly activity (fire, dazzling and harassment) against the new outpost established on the village's land. The IOF attacked the residents and clashes started. A resident was injured by a Ruger 10/22 bullet.


18. At-Tuwani, Masafer Yatta, Saturday. Settlers attacked the village, and the residents confronted them. The IOF was called upon, attacked the villagers, searched houses, blocked the entrances and attacked activists. The settlers roamed freely. Twelve Palestinians were injured, including a 55-year-old man, who was attacked by an officer, while driving an agricultural tractor on his way to work.


19. Nur Shams Refugee Camp, east of Tulkarm, early Saturday morning. Exchange of fire at the entrance to the camp. The IOF retreated without entering.


20. Bethlehem, Sunday. A few hours after the incident near Tuqu', in which a Palestinian shot at a vehicle, wounding a settler and his two daughters (details below), the IOF raided the city center, took positions in front of the Palestinian security forces headquarters, and surrounded the Al-Rabat mosque, where the shooter was hiding.

Exchange of fire and clashes during which four residents were injured by live ammunition. Suffocation injuries. Three arrests, including the shooter, a Hamas operative.


21. Dayr Dibwan, east of Ramallah, Sunday. A guard post tent of a Palestinian civil guard (a local organization for defense against settlers' attacks) was destroyed by the IOF, who threatened its occupants with arrest if they continued to stay in the area.


22. Nabi Ilyas, east of Qalqilya. A Palestinian vehicle was ambushed by the IOF, and the driver was arrested.


23. 'Atara Checkpoint, north of Ramallah, Saturday. Soldiers shot at a Palestinian man, his mother and his wife, while they rode their vehicle. Seven bullets were fired at the vehicle. Both women were injured by shrapnel.


24. Kafr Ni'ma, northwest of Ramallah, Sunday. A raid following an attack on a settler's vehicle. Confrontations. No injuries or arrests were reported.


25. Shufa, southeast of Tulkarm. A Palestinian motorcyclist who collided with a military vehicle, probably by accident, was shot and taken into custody.


26. Qalandiya Refugee Camp, north of Jerusalem, Monday morning. Raid. Confrontations. Detention.


27. Qalqilya, Monday morning. Raid and clashes. No arrests.


28. Aqabat Jaber Refugee Camp, south of Jericho, Monday morning. A raid on the camp and the ʿEin Sultan Refugee Camp north of Jericho. A disguised special forces unit that entered the camp was exposed, and clashes began. Exchange of fire. detention.


29. Tulkarm, Monday. A night raid, shooting at the troops that retreated from the city. No house searches or arrests.


30. Baytin, north of Ramallah, Monday. Clashes in the village, after its residents went out to confront settlers that attacked vehicles. The IOF attacked the Palestinians.


31. Hebron, Monday. The IOF raided the house of the Al-Najjar Family, that one of her members opened fire at the settlers' vehicle in Tuqu'. The residents threw stones at the military vehicles.


32. al Fawar Refugee Camp, south of Hebron, Monday. Clashes began during a raid for arrests. one seriously wounded by a live bullet to the stomach. The IOF prevented an ambulance from approaching. Five were arrested.


33. Hares, north of Salfit, Monday. Clashes near the entrance.


34. Azzun, east of Qalqilya, Monday. The IOF raided the town after settlers were injured by throwing stones. Clashes including exchange of fire, and improvised explosive devices. A 17-year-old was injured by live bullet. An Israeli soldier was hit by stones.


35. Huwara, south of Nablus, Monday. A bakery owner refused to sell bread to IOF soldiers. In return, they attacked him and shot at the bakery.

 

Demolitions and Confiscations

1. Qarawat Bani Hassan, west to Salfit. Confiscation of a concrete mixer, engaged in construction work.


2. Biddu, northwest of Jerusalem. Burning of fifteen dunams of agricultural land, near the separation wall.


3. Silwan, Wadi Hilweh, a resident was forced to destroy his house.


4. Sawahera al-Sharqiya, East Jerusalem. Nine residences, two sheep pens and water tanks of the Bedouin shepherds community were destroyed.


5. Husan, west of Bethlehem. Uprooting of dozens of olive and almond trees, in the Quds area, near Beitar Illit.

 

Palestinian attacks on the Occupation Forces (IOF)

1. Jericho, Southern checkpoint. shooting.

2. Nablus. Shooting at drones flying over the old city

3. Al-Arroub Refugee Camp, north of Hebron. Fire bombs on the tower at the entrance.

 

Settlers attacks on Palestinians

1. Qabbun, east of Ramallah. A settler was documented invading a Palestinian home. Settlers attacked and damaged a water tank, and emptied it.


2. Kafr Thulth, south of Qalqilya. Settlers attacked several families from the Arab Al Hawali community east of the village. They invaded homes and injured four elders, over 70-year-olds, two of them suffer skull fractures, and two more young Palestinians.

Tents were lit. The IOF was busy securing the settlers, and hindered the access of medical aid and fire fighters. The injured could be rescued only several hours later.


3. Beit Sira Checkpoint, west of Nablus. Settlers attacked Palestinian vehicles and blocked the road under the protection of the IOF.


4. Kaubar, northwest of Ramallah. Settlers, backed by the IOF, attacked the south side of the town. A Palestinian was hit in the face by stones. The Palestinians harassed the new outpost that was built on their lands, and were attacked by the IOF.


5. Tel Rumeida, Hebron. A group of settlers took over the roof of a Palestinian house, threw garbage to the front yard and attacked its occupants.


6. Qarawat Bani Hassan, west of Salfit. Settlers raided the antiquities area near Deir ed-Derb.


7. Al Auja, north of Jericho. A summer camp of school students was verbally attacked and threatened by settlers.


8. At-Tuwani, Masafer Yatta. Settlers, probably from a Ma'on farm, attacked at At-Tuwani and Um Fagarah. The residents who went out to protect themselves, were attacked by the IOF.

Twelve wounded. Two detainees, among them the journalist Basel Adra, who refused to hand over material he documented on his mobile phone about the attack. He was handcuffed, blindfolded, and left in the sun for about two hours, until he was released. The soldiers prevented an ambulance from approaching.


9. Khirbet al-Tala, Masafer Yatta. A settler, riding an ATV, attacked on Saturday a shepherd and his flock.


10. Mu'arrajat, north of Jericho. Settlers invaded houses, took pictures and threatened.


11. Sebastia, northwest of Nablus. Settlers attacked a house on the west side of the town, and shepherds in grazing in the fields, while damaging the crop. The IOF arrested the owners of the house when they tried to defend themselves.


12. Hebron. The settlers' march, under the protection of the IOF, passed through the old city, while shouting and provocations towards the residents.


13. Burin, south of Nablus. Settlers attacked houses, set fire to fields. The IOF attacked the Palestinians who tried to defend themselves. Three suffocation injuries.


14. At-Tuba, Masafer Yatta. Settlers set a tent near a water well owned by one of the families. Usually in preparation for a new outpost.


15. Al-Bireh. Settlers threw stones at vehicles at the northern entrance.


16. Abu Ghosh, west of Jerusalem. Jews set fire to four vehicles and sprayed hate-graffiti on houses.


17. Al Bowereh, east of Hebron. Settlers vandalized 150 vine seedlings.


18. Umm Safa, north of Ramallah. After the outpost was evicted, settlers vandalized olive trees.


19. Ein al-Beida, north of the Jordan Valley. Settlers attacked a boy, and burned his fruit and vegetable stand.


20. al-Mughayyir, northeast of Ramallah. Settlers prevented water tanker access.


21. Nahalin, west of Bethlehem. Sewage water from Beitar Illit was pumped into the fields of Nahalin, Husan and Wadi Fukin.


22. Hamra, north of the Jordan Valley. Three settlers blocked a vehicle accompanying shepherds and attacked the activists with clubs and kicks.


23. Hares, north of Salfit. Throwing stones and blocking the road.


24. Fasa'il, northwest of Jericho. A new outpost.

 

Palestinians attacks on settlers

1. Asael, south of Hebron. Palestinian enters the settlement, beaten by the settlers, and arrested by the IOF.

2. Bat Ayin, west of Hebron. Shooting at the settlement.

3. Tuqu', southeast of Bethlehem. A Palestinian shot at a settler vehicle, wounding the father, his 9 and 14-year-old daughters. He fled the scene, but was later arrest in Bethlehem.

4. Kafr Ni'ma, northwest of Ramallah. A settler vehicle entered the village and was attacked. The Car was damaged. No casualties.

5. Azzun, east of Qalqiliya. Stone throwing. Heavy damage to vehicles. Five settlers wounded.
