The US-Israeli attack on Iran, day five
‣ Iran
1. Large-scale Israeli and US airstrikes in several cities, including Tehran, Isfahan, Kermanshah, Tabriz and Salas Babajani, where a field hospital was hit. Strikes primarily targeted missile infrastructure, Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) facilities and command centers. Additional strikes reported in western Iran near the Iraqi border. Iran responded with further launches of ballistic missiles and drones toward Israel and US bases in the region.
◦ Strategic US strikes targeted Iranian missile systems and air defense infrastructure.
◦ Strikes were also reported near the Iran-Iraq border, apparently intended to support Kurdish opposition groups operating along the frontier.
◦ Civilian infrastructure in Tehran heavily damaged in several waves of strikes, including sports complexes and public buildings.
2. Casualties since February 28, 2026:
◦ 1,114 killed, including 181 children.
◦ More than 6,000 injured.
‣ Israel
1. Iran launched several barrages of missiles and drones toward Israel. Israeli air defense systems intercepted many of them. No new casualties reported. Israel has imposed heavy censorship on missile impacts and interceptor debris across the country.
◦ Israel continued long-range airstrikes against targets in Iran.
2. Casualties since February 28, 2026:
◦ 12 people killed in Iranian missile attacks.
‣ United States
1. Missile strikes on US bases and military facilities in several Gulf countries, including Kuwait and Qatar. The most serious reported incident involved a strike on a base in Kuwait, where six US soldiers were killed.
◦ US forces participated in airstrikes on Iranian missile systems and military infrastructure alongside Israel.
◦ The US military confirmed that a US Navy submarine sank the frigate IRIS Dena off the coast of Sri Lanka yesterday, and confirmed the strike on the Iranian drone carrier IRIS Shahid Bagheri two days ago. 101 of the 180 crew members of the sunk frigate remain missing.
2. Casualties since February 28, 2026:
◦ Six US soldiers stationed at bases in the Gulf region killed in Iranian attacks.
‣ The Gulf States (Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia)
1. Iran launched ballistic missiles and drones toward US bases and allied facilities in several Gulf countries. Some missiles were directed at residential buildings and hotels near military facilities hosting US forces.
2. Casualties since February 28, 2026:
◦ Injuries reported in several Gulf countries as a result of missile impacts or interceptor debris.
‣ Azerbaijan (new front)
1. Azerbaijan accused Iran of launching four drones toward Nakhchivan airport. This appears to be the first Iranian attack on a Caucasus state since the beginning of the confrontation. Iran denies attacking Azerbaijan.
2. Casualties:
◦ Four civilians injured in the airport strike.
Lebanon
‣ Throughout the night and day, Hezbollah launches drones and rockets at Israel, no casualties reported.
1. Airstrikes in Beirut (Hazmieh district, Madi neighborhood, University neighborhood), Bchamoun, Saadiyat (several killed and injured), Baalbek (8 killed and 13 injured), Jmaijmeh (several killed and injured), Hula, Arnoun, Jarmaq, Beqaa, Shmustar, Yohmor Al Shaqif, Markaba, Harouf, Tebnit, Nabatieh (several injured), Tyre.
2. Artillery fire on Bayt Lif, Ramyeh, Aitaroun, Khiam, Ayta ash Shab.
3. Israeli navy vessels attacked Aaramoun (several killed and injured).
4. Ground incursions, supported by armor and artillery fire, into Kfar Shuba and Meiss Al Jabal.

Syria
1. Kwdana – raid and arrest of three residents, including a minor.
2. Syria closed border crossings with Lebanon.
