A man with Down's syndrome attacked by IDF dog and left to die

Muhammed, 24-years-old, suffers from Down Syndrome and has been diagnosed on the autistic spectrum, at very low function level. He lives in Shuja’iya. 15 times his family has been displaced, until they could no longer take it. The explosions frightened Muhammed, but so did the frequent changes. Thus, on June 27, 2024, when the Israeli army instructed all residents of this neighborhood to leave, they decided they were staying.

For 7 days they were under siege, surrounded by tanks and soldiers, moving from room to room to seek shelter from the massive shooting. On July 3rd, soldiers accompanied by a dog (probably trained to search for tunnels) break into the house. Muhammed is frightened. The mother turns to the soldiers, yelling that he is disabled and that they should distance the dog. The dog attacked Muhammed, bit him in the chest and arm, and Muhammed began to bleed. The soldiers took him to another room, distancing him from the family. He was scared and shouted. The mother shouted. Nothing helped.

After a few hours, the soldiers demanded of the family to remove itself, under gun threats. Their pleading to take or see Muhammed met the barrel of a gun. The family was evicted to a displaced persons camp. Muhammed was left behind.

The returned home at the end of the week and found his body lying in blood stains. The only reminder of any medical assistance was a tourniquet. Nothing else. Muhammed must have been left to die.
