General

1. On February 28, 2026, the United States and Israel launched a combined attack on Iran. The objectives were ambiguous and shifted over time: regime change, removal of the nuclear threat, and following the closure of the Strait of Hormuz – its reopening.Iran responded with missile launches (ballistic, guided, cluster warheads and others) and UAVs toward Israel and U.S. targets in the Gulf states, including the closure of the Strait of Hormuz.


2. On March 2, 2026, Hezbollah joined the fighting, launching missiles and UAVs toward Israel. Israel responded with airstrikes and a limited ground incursion into Lebanon, with the declared aim of dismantling Hezbollah and establishing a buffer zone up to the Litani River.


3. In Iraq, Shiite militias operated against U.S. targets in Baghdad. The Americans responded with airstrikes on militia strongholds in the north of the country.


4. The Houthis joined in early April, launching UAVs and missiles toward Israel.


5. On April 8, 2026, a two-week ceasefire was declared, involving Iran, the United States and Israel, mediated by Pakistan. Fighting in Lebanon was still ongoing at the time of writing.

‣ Daily bombardments hit an average of 1,080 homes;

25 medical centers damaged and 6 hospitals evacuated, 75 ambulances and rescue vehicles destroyed, 20 Red Crescent centers damaged;

‣ On April 8, the day of the ceasefire declaration, Israel launched a massive attack across Lebanon, killing 357 people within two hours.

‣ Over 20% of Lebanon’s population, approx. 1.2 million people displaced, including 13,500 pregnant women and 200 expected to give birth within the coming month, without access to medical follow-up.

1. Pro-Iranian militias (al-Hashd al-Shaabi) attacked U.S. bases in Baghdad, mainly the Victoria base near the airport, as well as Kurdish targets; Israel struck a Hezbollah headquarters in Babil District; the U.S. bombed militia bases in Mosul.
