Wednesday, August 20, 2025 – The Gaza Strip

In the past 24 hours:

◦ 3 more cases of death by starvation;

◦ 58 persons killed (22 of them aid seekers), 185 wounded (49 of them aid seekers).

Since March 18, 2025 – 10,576 persons killed, 44,947 wounded;

Since May 27, 2025 – 2,018 persons killed, 14,947 wounded, all aid seekers;

◦ So far, 269 persons have died of starvation, 112 of them children.

Since October 7, 2023 – 62,122 persons killed, 156,758 wounded.

‣ 75 persons killed since dawn, at least 19 of them aid seekers.

‣ The Ministry of Communication in Gaza: 239 journalists have been killed since October 7, 2023, throughout the Gaza Strip.


Northern Strip

‣ Booby-trapped robot exploded in the eastern part of town;

‣ Destruction of residential buildings.

Gaza City

1. West:

‣ Helicopter fire in the night;

Al Shati refugee camp – bombing of a café in the camp, 4 persons killed, at least 10 wounded;

‣ Displaced persons bombed in Asma’a School, killed and wounded persons.


2. East:

‣ Aerial bombings and destruction of residential buildings during the night;

‣ Shots fired from a vehicle in the night;

Shuja'iya – artillery fire.

3. North:

‣ Displaced persons encampment bombed in the northern shore area, 5 persons killed – parents and their 3 children, 2 sons 4- and 7-years-old and their 9-year-old sister;

‣ Aerial bombing in Zarqa area, a mother and her daughter were killed;

Sheikh Radwan – aerial attack, 3 persons killed, several wounded.


4. South:

‣ Displaced persons tent bombed near the Islamic University of Gaza in the south-western part of town, 2 persons killed and several wounded;

‣ Shots fired from a vehicle in the night;

◦ Bombing of the Endowments office building that sheltered displaced persons, killed and wounded persons;


◦ Residential buildings destroyed.

◦ Artillery fire past midnight and all morning;

◦ Artillery fire near Al Sabra clinic;

◦ House bombed, one person wounded.

5. City center:

‣ House bombed near Al Samer Junction, killed and wounded persons;

‣ Attack of inhabitants gathering near Al Yizji bakery, killed and wounded persons.


Central Strip

1. Al Bureij refugee camp – artillery fire at northern part of camp in the afternoon.

2. Deir al-Balah – artillery fire in the morning.

3. Nuseirat refugee camp:

‣ House bombed near Al Sawahra Cemetery a little past midnight, 3 persons killed – parents and their daughter. Persons wounded;


‣ Helicopter fire at a house near Al Ishreen Street, one person killed, several wounded;

‣ Artillery fire at northern part of the camp;

‣ A drone attacks people gathering near Al Haj bakery, some hurt;

‣ A drone attacks displaced persons near Al Sawahra School, one person killed, several wounded;

‣ Shots fired at aid seekers near Wadi Gaza bridge, 7 persons killed, several wounded.


Khan Yunis district

‣ About 20 Hamas men exiting a tunnel and attacked a post of the Israeli army containing Kfir Brigade soldiers. Number of Hamas fighters were killed, and several Israeli soldiers were wounded. Israeli sources estimate this was a kidnapping attempt.

1. West:

‣ Helicopter fire at night;

◦ Displaced persons encampment bombed near Al Hilal field hospital, killed and wounded persons, mostly children;


◦ A drone attacks a displaced persons encampment in the afternoon, 3 persons killed.

‣ House bombed in the western camp, 3 persons killed, including 2 girls – a 10-year-old and a 3-month-old baby girl.


2. North:

Al-Qarara – displaced persons encampment bombed, killed and wounded persons.

3. City center:

‣ Artillery fire at noon.


Rafah district

1. Shots fired at aid seekers in Al Tina area, south of town, wounded persons.
