Wednesday, July 31, 2024 – The Gaza Strip

‣ 45 persons killed;

‣ 77 persons wounded;

Tehran - an explosion in the apartment where Ismail Haniyeh, the head of Hamas political bureau, and his bodyguard, were staying. Both were killed;

‣ 24 hours*.


Senior journalist and an Al Jazeera cameraman killed in Al Shati refugee camp


Northern Strip

1. Gaza City:

‣ Shuja'iya (east) - artillery and aerial attacks;

‣ Al Zeitoun (south-east) – Artillery fire;

‣ Al Shati refugee camp (north-west) - a vehicle, carrying a senior journalist and an Al Jazeera cameraman, was hit after they finished filming an article near Ismail Haniyeh's destroyed house. 2 killed.



A minor who was standing nearby, was also killed;

Khaled Al Shawa was killed while riding his bicycle near the journalists' vehicle in Al Shati


‣ Tel Al Hawa (southwest) - machine-gun and helicopter fire;

‣ Al Tufah (East) - aerial attack.


Central Strip

1. Al Bureij refugee camp - aerial attack.

2. Al Zawaida:

‣ aerial attack - 9 persons killed and 1 seriously wounded;

‣ Aerial bombing of agricultural lands.

3. Al Maghazi refugee camp:

‣ Car bombed - 4 persons killed;

‣ Artillery on the east side of the camp.

4. Nuseirat refugee camp - bombing of agricultural lands.


Southern Strip



1. Rafah:

‣ Artillery on Al Mawasi ("the safe zone");

‣ North - 2 bodies were recovered from the ruins of a house that was shelled two days earlier;

‣ Tel Al Sultan (west) - drone attack, 2 persons killed and several wounded.

2. Abasan Al Kabira, east of Khan Yunis – artillery fire, several persons wounded.

 

 

* Twelve noon of the previous day to twelve noon of the current day.
