‣ The assassination of Ismail Haniyeh, head of Hamas political bureau, is behind most of today's events. Throughout the West Bank there are calls for a shutdown, demonstrations and an escalation of confrontations.
Raids and arrests
During the night, Israeli forces raided Sir, Jayus, Jaba’, Kafr Jammal, Tell, Nablus, Fahma, Ramin, Silat ad-Dhahr, Fandaqumiya, Sanur, Al Arroub refugee camp. During the day they raided Sa’ir, Beit Rima, Sinjil, Hebron, Hajjah, Yatta, Qusra, Shu’afat refugee camp, Burka, Issawiya, Husan, Silwan, Anbata. At least 13 Palestinians were arrested, 2 minors among them.
Clashes
1. Tell, south-west of Nablus - night raid, clashes.
2. Nablus - night raid, clashes.
3. Silat ad-Dhahr, south of Jenin - night raid, clashes.
4. Al Arroub refugee camp, north of Hebron - night raid and clashes, followed by an evening raid. Massive live fire, teargas and stun grenades on a procession, in protest of the Haniyeh’s assassination. Multiple suffocation injuries.
5. Hebron - raid and violent arrest (beatings) of a 16-year-old minor, in the city center.
6. Yatta - Clashes during an arrest of a minor, suspected of carrying out a shooting and stabbing attack this morning (details below).
7. Bethlehem - clashes in the south side of the city, in response to a colonists attack in a village south of the city (details below), followed by clashes in the north side.
8. Shu’afat refugee camp, north-east Jerusalem - clashes.
9. Qalqilya - Clashes near the northern checkpoint.
10. Husan, west of Bethlehem - raid. Clashes ensued when the forces attacked a protest procession.
11. Anbata, east of Tulkarm - clashes during demonstrations.
12. Issawiya, north-east Jerusalem - night raid. Houses sprayed with skunk water.
13. Silwan, east Jerusalem – clashes.
Attacks against the army
1. Nablus – shots fired at a post on Mount Gerizim.
2. Hebron – shots fired at a forces near Ibrahimi Mosque (Cave of the Patriarchs). Also on the same day, it was revealed that the construction work and roofing on the site, were done at the behest of the Yehuda brigade commander, without the approval of the senior echelon (he hid the deed).
3. Huwara, south of Nablus - pillbox set on fire.
4. Qarawat Bani Hassan, west of Salfit - an improvised explosive charge on the military tower.
5. Salem checkpoint, north-west of Jenin – shots fired.
6. Ni'lin, west of Ramallah – fire bomb on a military vehicle.
7. Udala, south of Nablus - pillbox set on fire.
Demolitions, confiscation and expropriation
1. Atara, north of Ramallah - night raid. An apartment of a detainee suspected of participating in a shooting attack east of Ramallah, was blown, as a collective punishment. The apartment located in an apartment building. The explosion damaged nearby apartments. During the preparations, the forces fired live ammo at those who tried to leave their homes, and at vehicles that tried to enter the village.
2. Jabel Mukaber, south-east Jerusalem - demolition of an agricultural building.
3. Beit Jala, north-west of Bethlehem - the Civil Administration raided privately owned land and destroyed a temporary structure, despite the documents the owners have, apparently in preparation for colonists takeover. When the landowner called the police, the police arrested his son. Armed colonists, along with children and youth, raided the place and threw away the owner's equipment. The army issued a closed military zone order for 24 hours on the place. The order did not apply to the colonists who continued to stay there undisturbed.
Attacks against colonists
1. Kiryat Arba – shots fired at a colonist from a passing-by Palestinian vehicle, near the colony. The car returned and the driver got out, stabbed the colonist, seriously wounding him. An armed female soldier who was present at the scene, shot and wounded the attacker. The Palestinian, a 16-year-old minor, escaped, and later was detained in Yatta.
2. Shuqba, west of Ramallah – a colonist was wounded by stones thrown at his vehicle.
3. Har Homa, north-east Jerusalem - stones thrown. Vehicle damaged.
4. Za'atara checkpoint, south of Nablus, on the road leading to the Eviatar checkpoint – fire bombs on vehicles.
5. Tuqu’a, south-east of Bethlehem - stones and paint bottles thrown. A bus damaged.
6. Gush Etzion, north of Hebron - stones thrown. Vehicles damaged.
7. Deir Istiya, north-west of Salfit - a colonist was wounded by stones thrown at his vehicle.
8. Huwara, south of Nablus – stones thrown.
9. Tarqumiyah, west of Hebron - stones thrown at vehicles.
10. Hizma, north-east of Jerusalem - stones thrown.
Colonists attacks (some in combination with the army)
1. Qusra, south-east of Nablus – colonists, backed by the army, attacked houses south-east of the village. Clashes ensued. Soldiers opened live fire at the Palestinians and wounded one of them, and then detained him. No arrests among the colonists.
2. Beit Rahal, south of Bethlehem, near Khirbet an-Nahla - colonists attacked, shot live fire at Palestinians. 5 persons injured.
Clashes ensued. The army confronted the Palestinians. The clashes spread to the nearby Bethlehem.
3. Burka, east of Ramallah - colonists raid from the east and the forces from the west. Clashes ensued. The army fired live ammo and teargas.
4. Al Mughayyir, north-east of Ramallah - colonists throw stones.
5. Khallet ad-Daba'a, Masafer Yatta - colonists uproot, and damage olive trees by grazing sheep.
6. Jericho – colonists throw stones at passing-by Palestinian vehicles, at the northern entrance.
7. Al Mu’arrajat, north-west of Jericho - colonists confiscate a pump that supplies water to one of the communities.
8. Simya, Masafer Yatta - colonists attack shepherds and injure them.
